OTB's Favourite Mid-Range Studs for NRL Fantasy

NRL Fantasy is all about finding players who offer great value for their price, and in 2023, I have three mid-range options that you should keep an eye on. These players have the potential to outscore their price tag and be key contributors to your fantasy team's success. So, let's take a closer look at Luke Garner, Tanah Boyd, and Jackson Hastings.

Luke Garner

First up, Luke Garner is a powerhouse in the making. As a versatile edge backrower, Garner has the potential to score big in NRL Fantasy. He's priced at $478k, which may not seem impressive, given his 34 average in 2022. However, it's important to note that Garner averages an impressive 47.6 on the edge. This makes him a fantastic value pick and a strong contributor to your team. Whether it's through tackles, run meters, or offloads, Luke Garner has the skills to get the job done and boost your NRL Fantasy score.

Tanah Boyd

Next, Tanah Boyd is set to start at halfback for the Titans, where he normally averages 47.3. This makes him a solid option for your team, and his price of $479k is great value for a starting halfback. Tanah Boyd is a natural playmaker and has a great understanding of the game. He's known for his quick thinking, passing accuracy, and his ability to create opportunities for his teammates. Additionally, Boyd has dual position for half and hooker, giving you even more flexibility in your team selection.

Jackson Hastings

Last but not least, let's talk about Jackson Hastings. Priced at $645k, Hastings averaged 45.8 across his 10 games as half for the Tigers. In his first 5 games as a half, he averaged 55 points, but in round 11, he sustained a foot injury that affected his performance over the next few rounds. This is important to note because Hastings is reportedly partnering Ponga in the halves for the Knights, and if he's healthy, he's expected to take over the majority of the kicking duties, bumping up his kicking meters and giving him the potential to average 55 again. At a price of $645k, Hastings is priced at roughly 46 average, so there's a risk picking him up, but the upside could make it a worthwhile risk.

Tying things up, Luke Garner, Tanah Boyd, and Jackson Hastings are three mid-range players to watch for the upcoming NRL Fantasy season. Keep an eye on their pre-season and regular season performance, and consider them when building your team. With the potential to outscore their price tag, these players could be key to your fantasy team's success.
