Cowboys

Reece Robson: Robson kicked off the season strongly and became a hooker POD, defying expectations with his Origin selection. His average has slightly decreased to just below 50 over the season. A consistent presence in the Cowboys lineup, he offers steady work rate and solid performances. Rarely missing entire games, Robson delivers reliability. Fantasy Rating: 8/10

Scott Drinkwater: Drinkwater's transformation into a Fantasy gun is notable. Previously overlooked in the Fantasy world, his value surged from $500k in round eight to around $850k in round 22. His inclusion in the NSW squad further cemented his Fantasy prowess. He showcased versatility, scoring tries and notching a remarkable 101 in round 18. Fantasy Rating: 8/10

Valentine Holmes: Holmes's Fantasy journey can be tumultuous. His 2023 average of 46 reflects the roller-coaster nature of his performances. Covering the challenging CTR position, he presents both ups and downs. While not a top-tier keeper, his average suggests competence for a CTR slot. Fantasy Rating: 7/10

Tom Dearden: Dearden's NRL skills don't seamlessly translate to Fantasy success. With a 2023 average of 40, his inconsistency raises concerns for his price point. Dearden's performance relies heavily on attacking stats, and his limited kicking duties contribute to fluctuating scores. Fantasy Rating: 6/10

Chad Townsend: Townsend's Fantasy profile resembles Dearden's to some extent. While he contributes more in attacking stats and shares kicking duties, his consistency doesn't elevate him to Fantasy stardom. Townsend maintains stable Fantasy scores without spectacular results. Fantasy Rating: 6/10

Coen Hess: Hess's Fantasy prime seems to be in the past. Shifting roles between the front row and edges, his reduced minutes impact his performance. With a consistent 2023 average of 38, he combines strong work rate and attacking stats. An increase in game time could potentially enhance his scores. Fantasy Rating: 6/10

Jordan McLean: McLean's 2023 performance is marked by consistency rather than explosive scores. While he didn't dominate the Fantasy landscape, his decent work rate translates to about a point per minute. Limited minutes impact his value, and he's more suited for cash cow considerations. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Reuben Cotter: Cotter began 2023 strong with a round one score of 60. His premium starting price gradually decreased throughout the season, presenting a potential cut-price option for 2024. Despite a dip in minutes in the latter part of the season, Cotter's solid play and consistency remain noteworthy. Fantasy Rating: 6/10

Peta Hiku: Hiku's 2023 season showcased moderate consistency with an average of 33. While he boasts a decent work rate, missed tackles and errors affected his scores. Crossing the try line only once, his Fantasy performance remains steady but unremarkable. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Jake Granville: Granville's 2023 campaign, riddled with injuries, necessitated various positional roles. Despite uncertainty, he emerged as an option due to a bargain base price. Owners who took the plunge enjoyed potential gains of nearly $200k. Granville's adaptability rewarded those who made the move. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Murray Taulagi: Taulagi's consistency defined his mid-priced 2023 season. While he didn't make significant gains or losses, his reliable average of 40 marked him as a reliable option. Strong meters gained and occasional try-scoring bolstered his value. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Kyle Feldt: Feldt's injury-marred 2023 didn't match his usual Fantasy reputation. Starting the season at $330k, he attracted under-the-radar attention. A smart investment early on could yield over $200k in gains, showcasing his potential for those willing to take a risk. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Jeremiah Nanai: Nanai's mid-range starting price of $645k set expectations for his 2023 performance. Despite consistency, his price point limited significant gains. Averaging 40 and playing the full 80 minutes, Nanai's steady output didn't reach keeper status. Fantasy Rating: 6/10

Jason Taumalolo: Taumalolo's decline as a top-tier Fantasy player has been evident for a few years. Injuries and shifts in performance have contributed to his diminished Fantasy impact. A potential comeback in 2024, dependent on health and starting status, could offer investment opportunities. Fantasy Rating: 4/10

Luciano Leilua: Leilua's mid-season transfer from the Tigers brought inconsistency due to injuries. Despite limited games, he averaged 45 upon his return, making him a noteworthy POD option. While his price stagnated, he remains an interesting choice for a unique lineup. Fantasy Rating: 6/10

Griffin Neame: Neame's ownership is limited, mainly due to his awkward price and reduced minutes in the Cowboys lineup. Despite decent work rate and base stats, missed tackles affect his overall score. Limited minutes remain a drawback. Fantasy Rating: 4/10

Jamayne Taunoa-Brown: Taunoa-Brown's 2023 Fantasy season was less than stellar, losing $112k from his starting price. Increased game time or starting opportunities might enhance his value, making him a prospect for future consideration. Fantasy Rating: 4/10

Heilum Luki: Luki's inconsistent season was marked by injuries and a mix of starting and bench appearances. Despite challenges, he produced strong scores on occasion. Monitoring his price and potential return to the starting lineup in 2024 is advised. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Semi Valemei: Valemei's limited appearances in 2023 didn't hinder his ability to increase his price by around $150k. Strong base stats and try-scoring prowess make him a player to watch in 2024 if he can secure a full season of play. Fantasy Rating: 5/10

Jack Gosiewski: Gosiewski's affordability and starting spot made him tempting for some, despite past disappointments. Smart owners who acquired him and held on enjoyed a potential gain of $140k. His situation serves as a reminder of the risks and rewards of Fantasy choices. Fantasy Rating: 4/10

Kulikefu Finefeuiaki: Finefeuiaki's potential as a cash cow never fully materialized in 2023. As a late-season cash-out option, his limited minutes and games provided a narrow view of his Fantasy capabilities. Watching his future development is recommended. Fantasy Rating: 3/10

Tom Chester: Chester seized an early-season opportunity, boosting his price from a bargain base of $230k to $350k. His ability to produce scores above 35 in quick succession demonstrates his potential. Securing a starting role could elevate him further in the future. Fantasy Rating: 4/10

Mitchell Dunn: Dunn's seven-game performance led to a decrease in his starting price. Despite limited appearances, his work rate showed promise. If granted more game time, he could evolve into a cash cow prospect. Fantasy Rating: 3/10

Sam McIntyre: McIntyre's sparse appearances in 2023 limit his Fantasy impact. Decent work rate and past performances suggest that more minutes would yield more points. His future role and contributions are worth monitoring. Fantasy Rating: 3/10

North Queensland Cowboys Fantasy Prowess: 123
